HORNBILL FESTIVAL is called the "Festival of Festivals" because it unites various tribal celebrations into one grand event. Instead of traveling to different villages to experience their unique festivals, visitors can enjoy them all at Kisama Heritage Village, the festival venue.
At the 25th Hornbill Festival in December 2024, the folk troupe SeYie Intrepid, founded by renowned Naga artist Seyievinuo Chuzho, delivered a captivating performance that highlighted the rich cultural tapestry of Nagaland. Established in 2022, SeYie Intrepid comprises singers and dancers from 16 Naga tribes, dedicated to documenting and showcasing authentic folk tunes and dances.
During the festival, SeYie Intrepid collaborated with Welsh folk artist Mari Mathias as part of the "Two Nations of Culture and Innovation" initiative, a partnership between the State of Nagaland and the British Council. This cross-cultural performance not only celebrated Naga traditions but also fostered international cultural exchange, blending traditional Naga folk elements with Welsh musical styles.

Seyievinuo Chuzho is a multifaceted Naga artist renowned for her contributions as a singer, songwriter, and cultural ambassador from Nagaland, India. She began her musical journey at the age of six, deeply inspired by the rich heritage and folklore of her community. Over the years, she has adeptly blended traditional Naga elements with contemporary artistic expressions, captivating audiences both locally and internationally.
In addition to her musical pursuits, Seyievinuo is a dedicated academic, currently undertaking PhD research in the Department of History and Archaeology at Nagaland University. Her scholarly work complements her artistic endeavors, as she strives to preserve and promote Naga culture through various initiatives. Notably, she founded the SeYie Intrepid folk troupe in 2022, encompassing performers from 16 Naga tribes. This ensemble focuses on documenting and showcasing authentic folk tunes and dances, thereby celebrating the cultural diversity of Nagaland.
